Cultural Portraits
Portraits with traditional and contemporary elements, by artists of First Nations, Middle Eastern, Asian and other backgrounds. Investigate how an artist’s expression reflects his or her identity and culture and the role visual arts has in reflecting or challenging traditions. The Printmaker’s Pets

My Place: Canadian Landscapes
See Canada through contemporary landscapes and cityscapes. Examine how Canadian artists represent different aspects of their communities. Learn about narrative and depth in landscape, representing nature, collage, pallet knife painting, colour and pattern to portray Canada’s places. Birds & Boats: Alistair Bell
Explore the style and inspirations of Canadian artist Alistair Bell through drawing and watermedia techniques. Imitate Bell's observation excursions to the boat docks and the zoo using the resources in the kit for sketching trips. Inventive Assemblage
Two original, touchable sculptures inspire students. Use easily ‘rescued’ materials to construct inventive structures or consider form and space in narrative sculptures. Paper rolls, bottle caps, plastic and string are not just for the recycle bin! Draft ideas using observation, memory and imagination, while learning about materials and processes used in contemporary assemblage. Artists: Tiki Mulvihill and Connie Sabo.
