Ross Bollerup’s interest in landscape images began early in his career. He believes humanity is unavoidably part of the natural world and explores this relationship in his work. The artist lives with his wife Gwen, a biologist, and their children Owen and Tasha in Rosedale near Mt. Cheam.

Bollerup paints images of his garden and the small creatures that live there, as well as the surrounding landscape. He has been teaching part-time since 1969, working with students from beginners to accomplished artists.

Bollerup’s first major exhibition was at the Bau-Xi Gallery in 1966. Since then he has had shows throughout B.C. and been part of group shows across North America. The Contemporary Art Gallery and the Prince George, Victoria and Vancouver art galleries have all exhibited his work. His art is found in the collections of such varied institutions as the Coast Foundation Society, the City of Vancouver, the Print Consortium and the Canada Council Art Bank.
